Description
The I.S.L.E Erasmus Networks project “Innovation in the Teaching of Sustainable development in Life Sciences in Europe” was approved by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the EU in 2010 for a duration of 3 years.
The project involves 39 Higher Education institutions, Research institutes, enterprises and NGOs interested in introducing the concept of sustainable development in their curricula and/or institutions having had experience in this area, who are willing to transmit their know-how on this subject.
The I.S.L.E project aims to develop innovation regarding a transverse, cross-cutting or even interdisciplinary issue. Data already exists, websites and programs can already provide information, however, a tool to develop and transfer innovation in the introduction of the concept of Sustainable development in the teaching of Life Sciences do not exist.
The I.S.L.E Network is willing to propose something new and will focus on a theme that has not been investigated enough. “Everyone” talks about Sustainable development, and in terms of education, it is certain that Research is available on the subject, but it is not formatted and requires huge changes to work in an interdisciplinary way.
